52 : 17 (part 6)

Summing up 8 days aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship is pretty impossible! We voyaged from Vancouver to Alaska (Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan) and back, which definitely required 4 highlight photos.

Before we saw the ship for the first time Ewan could not comprehend the size and scope of the vessel and it is safe to say once he saw it, and climbed the gangway, his mind was blown. The cruise experience for Ewan was largely about when he could go back to kids club to play with Spiderman or Captain America or his friend Tristan from Indianapolis. He enjoyed all of the food especially the food he got to play with, the water park and waterslide, being a knight to his sister's princess, and our excursion in Juneau where we went whale watching and saw quite a few + a glacier and a black bear. This trip definitely sealed this boy's issues with reality as he was instantly talking about his next cruising adventure but on the ship with the Star Wars experience, thanks onboard advertisements.

Darby loved getting made up at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, seeing Ariel and all of the princesses again, swimming in the pool and riding the slide between all you can eat soft serve, and dancing with Mrs. Incredible at the Pixar party. She loved the ship, enjoyed kids club, liked the live shows and the movie theatre and was prepared to stay forever.

52 : 16 (part 6)

When Ewan was 8 months old he got his first stamp in his passport on a trip to Vancouver, and this week he got his first stamp in his new passport in Vancouver. We spent a few great days in Canada before we boarded the Disney Wonder for Alaska. While Ewan does not remember his first trip to Vancouver he sure did not let Darby know that!

Planes, taxis, and a boat... this week we headed to Alaska via the Disney Wonder cruise ship out of Vancouver. Darby had her first exposure to Canada and seemed to enjoy Vancouver, largely because of the timbits (donut holes from Tim Horton's). On Sunday we also got to celebrate this guy, who makes us all very proud every day - Happy Father's Day K!

52 : 15 (part 6)

Ewan graduated from preschool this week! While he will be a Bat Ray for a few more weeks the play and ceremony were on Friday and were pretty amazing. The class did "Where the Wild Things Are" for the play, Ewan was 1 of 2 boys that played Max, the better one of course :), and the ceremony was adorable. Grampie was in town and came to ceremony, which was a nice treat, we surprised Ewan!

This weekend Darby and Mama went to Yog-A-Wish, the inaugural yoga event hosted by Mama's Young Professionals Board to benefit Make A Wish Greater Bay Area... Darby loved it and showed offer her favorite pose, the tree pose, to anyone that would look!

This week's update speaks for itself... Ewan is hilarious and needs to stop napping at school!

Birthday parties make Darby very happy, especially when a balance beam is included.

Mama was in Boston this week so we FaceTimed, which is not always the best for any of us emotionally but it was nice to share the happenings of our weeks, which included some measurement of the new teeth Ewan has popping in by his classmates.

While we are not doing much to our rental home we did take the time to plant a little garden with the kids. Peas, bell peppers, pumpkins, zucchinis, tomatoes and herbs will grow through the summer and hopefully provide some entertainment and education. Darby really enjoyed gardening, even beyond the 5 minutes we expected although she did want purple flowers more than vegetables.
