52 : 51 (part 5)

Almost 5 and still so satisfied with the simple things, like a juice box and a slide! This weekend we got to visit with friends, our second cousins from MA, and drive down Lombard street... although Ewan could not quite understand why were making such a big fuss about a curvy street.

Darby 44/52 v3

A very special lady is nearing retirement so it was time to mark a milestone in Darby's life... our dear friend Annie has been a key part of so many occasions in our lives - she gave mama her first hair cut and did her hair for every meaningful occasion with the most important being her wedding, then she trimmed Ewan's little mullet when he finally started to grow hair, and this last weekend she gave Darby her first haircut. Just a small trim to get her beautiful curls healthier and to allow her the chance to sit in Annie's chair.

52 : 50 (part 5)

Nothing other than Slimer Valentine's were even considered... after Mama insisted we could not make every kid in class a Proton Pack that is.

Darby thought that if she followed me around for long enough shouting "this mermaid suit bootiful" I would buy it for her... she was right.

Darby 42/52 v3

Darby is a big hit with all the girls in our lives. When some of our favorites heard that "The Little Mermaid" sing-a-long was coming to the Castro Theatre we made a date for brunch and the show. One little girl, dressed like Ariel, and 4 big girls operating as her entourage, made for the perfect morning in San Francisco. Darby entered the costume parade and had a generally amazing time.

Loving all things silly, dreaming of mermaids, and constantly hugging her brother, plus a good tan from Hawaii.

52 : 48 (part 5)

This guy is finally outgrowing naps... and what this means is that he continues to take them at school and then refuses to sleep at night. He swears he is trying and it is not working, but can't seem to grasp that trying takes longer than 3 minutes in his dark room before he comes to tell us he is trying. Most nights we just accept the extra cuddles.
