Ewan is a Big Brother!

The day Ewan found out he was going to be a big brother (August 22, 2013)...

The day he became a big brother (April 24, 2014)...

It is amazing what can happen in 35 weeks!

52 : 7 (part 3)

This past weekend was Easter and we had a very mellow time enjoying each other. Saturday we dyed eggs for the Easter Bunny and on Sunday we went to the de Young, wandered Golden Gate Park, went to the Academy of Sciences to explore, and enjoyed lunch there at the Moss Room. When we got home the Bunny had done his business and we hunted down those eggs!

The Stork Visited Ewan Today!

Hello Family and Friends,

Ewan received a happy healthy pink package at 2:14am this morning (4/24/14).

Darby Moira McDonald joined our family in a flash (less than 3 hours start to finish), weighing in at 9 pounds 3 ounces and measuring 20 inches.

Thus far she is a sweet little lady and we are all in love. Everyone is doing well and now our adventure as a family of 4 begins!

Cheers,
Kevin, Peri & Ewan

52 : 6 (part 3)

The last few weeks with Ewan have been startling. He has decided he is a big boy --- he galavants around in his robe, requires that he turns the pages when reading books, has slept in his big bed like a champ, and now notifies the world when he needs to go to the bathroom. While Ewan has made this decision to be big we (really just mama) is a bit apprehensive about it!

Baby Big Mac - A Letter at 38 Weeks

Little Lady,

Our time together, just you and me, is almost up. I am 38 weeks pregnant today, which means you would be fine on the outside, but we want to keep you warm inside for at least one more week for your neurological development and general health.

The last couple weeks have been eventful, and a little miserable, but more amazing than not. I got a stomach bug that landed us in the hospital for some fluids and then a wicked gross cough, but the misery ends there!

On March 28th my friends at work hosted a surprise shower at Wayfare Tavern, a restaurant I love in the city. They bought the sweetest gifts for you and sent me home with a pink ballon your brother has been carrying around since. They really got me and made me feel so special, and loved. On April 4th, my last day at work before leave, my boss hosted a delightful send off with sweets and the cutest baby Burberry ever. And then on April 5th your Auntie Whitney hosted a tea for us, and your Auntie M and Auntie Christy, at the Rotunda in Neiman Marcus in Union Square. We enjoyed great tea service and of course they spoiled you!

In terms of your progress and everything medical I go to the doctor weekly now and am hoping like crazy my doc gets to deliver you like she did Ewan. Also, at the 36 week mark we had an ultrasound to see how big you are and of course, being our baby, you are a big girl! Estimated to be 7 lbs at that point, so likely between 8 and 9 when you arrive. We also got a glimpse of your face, at 20 weeks you were covering it from us with your hands, and you are gorgeous. You have beautiful lips, round cheeks, and a similar sweetness in your features to your brother.

We can't wait to meet you little lady and see that sweet face in person. We love you and will see you in a couple weeks-ish!

XOxxxoooOOO,
Mama

52 : 5 (part 3)

We talk about these monthly photos --- do we keep going, do we stop, do we go to quarterly, or just birthdays --- but at the end of the day we can't give them up. We love to compare our boy month to month - see how he is growing, joke about how his feet seem constantly longer, watch his bruises shift around, and admire his blond locks as they grow. We feel a shift in our house, this two year-old is definitely holding the reigns, now from a twin bed as opposed to a crib.

52 : 4 (part 3)

It has been a rainy week here, we are delighted. On Tuesday, while sitting at the table eating dinner Ewan started saying, "rain, rain, go - rain, rain, go." Kevin immediately recognized this as "rain, rain, go away, come again another day." A family sing-along ensued.
